Seasonal fire ceremony - Winter Solstice

The Wellspring community celebrates the earth’s cycles as an observance and honoring of the changes within ourselves. Join us for drumming and rattling within a sacred circle.

The Winter Solstice is a North fire to honor all of our ancestors and teachers and to recommit to being our own best teacher.

Coming to a fire ceremony symbolizes your willingness to burn away all that does not serve you and invite your deepest desires to surround you during each Earth cycle. The stick you prepare represents what you are releasing and inviting. This offering rekindles your inner fire, reminding you of your Divine purpose.

2010 Winter Solstice begins at 6:38 pm on December 21st.

What to bring: Drums and rattles, a stick to offer to the fire and a snack to share with the community after the ceremony.

What to wear: Dress in layers, wear comfortable shoes appropriate for the weather.

In the event of inclement weather that might cause us to cancel, please call 610-285-6145. Our outgoing message will let you know if we will not hold the ceremony.

“Contrary to what some people might believe, there is nothing wrong with having pleasures and enjoyments. What is wrong is the confused way we grasp onto these pleasures, turning them from a source of happiness into a source of pain and dissatisfaction. ”
— Lama Thubten Yeshe, "Introduction to Tantra"
