Introduction to meditation practices

Registration closes on July 11th.

Do you feel you’re a complete failure at meditation? Can your mind stay focused for a minute and not a minute more? Do you spend the whole time simply trying not to think about how many minutes have passed and how many more minutes you have to sit until you’re done? Do you wonder if you’re allowed to scratch your itches when you’re meditating? And, by the way, what the heck is a mantra and how often do you have to meditate before you can levitate?

And the ultimate question... how do we establish a daily meditation practice and what should it include?

This workshop will provide participants with the opportunity to learn a variety of meditation techniques which lead to the beginning of a deeper spiritual practice.

What to bring:
Water bottle and travel mug for hot beverages. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a light blanket, a bandana and a notebook.

Snow date: TBD

Please call (610) 285-6145 to listen to a recorded message if you suspect weather conditions are such that the class might be cancelled.

Fee: $75
“The mind is often compared to a horseman and the breath to the horse. A wild and untamed horse is difficult for the rider; a very good and well-trained horse is quite useful. If both rider and horse are extremely well trained and skilled, an excellent combination has been made.”
— Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche, "Union of Mahamudra and Dzogchen"
